Spencer Avenue Transit Center

What is the Project?
BCAG in combination with the City of Oroville, is leading the development of a transit center on Spencer Avenue between Oro Dam Boulevard and Mitchell Streets in Oroville. In the Fall of 2007, approximately $1 million was secured in Federal Transit Adminstration (FTA) funding, for the development of this project.

Why is the Project being done?
BCAG, together with the City of Oroville believes the development of a functional and modest trasit center will faciliate increased usage of the 5 local and regional routes using this location while also enhancing the adjacent retail land commercial businesses.

What is the current status of the Project?
In the Fall of 2008, BCAG circulated a request for proposals (RFP) from consultants and awarded a project to Dokken Engineering, Inc. or Sacramento to develop the project.  Project Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) are nearly completed.
