Paradise Transit Center

What is the Project?
Following completion of the Oroville Transit Center, it was determined a similar facility was needed in the Town of Paradise. Paradise has regular daily routing between Chico and Paradise and provides connection to other regional areas within Butte County. The intent of the project is to provide a location for transit users to centrally access the B-Line in Paradise and also enhance the downtown multi modal atmosphere.
What is the current status of the project?
A Congestion, Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant for $650,000 was secured in January of 2017. A Request for Proposals (RFP) was circulated with the eventual hiring of Mark Thomas to develop an environmental document and plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E) for the construction of the eventual project. It is expected the planning and design phase will be completed in mid - 2018.  There is currently no funding programmed for the construction of the project. However, it is very likely the project will compete well for future CMAQ funding and/or Cap and Trade funding through both federal and state sources.
A public meeting will be held in the Town of Paradise on June 1, 2017 at 5555 Skyway in the Paradise Town Hall.  Please see the attached press release for details here.
