CMAQ

2016 Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program - BCAG has initiated a "Call for Projects" for the CMAQ Program. Deadline to submit complete applications:  Monday, February 22, 2016.  Applications are required to be submitted by email. Hard copies will not be accepted.

In anticipation of the next Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP) scheduled for adoption in August 2016, BCAG will have the next round of new programming included in the next FTIP.   New programming capacity begins in the 2016/17 fiscal year with annual financial constraints of approximately $2,227,499 for a total 4 year estimate of $8.9 million.

The purpose of the CMAQ program is to fund projects which reduce the region’s non-attainment pollutants (carbon monoxide, ozone, PM2.5).  Staff encourages all applicants to consider leveraging local or other grant funds with CMAQ.  In addition, utilizing CMAQ for construction simplifies the project delivery process through Caltrans.  Agencies with a master agreement in place with Caltrans are eligible to apply.  Typically, these include the cities of BCAG/B-Line, Biggs, Chico, Gridley, Oroville, Paradise and the County.

July 2016 Update: The following projects have been submitted for new programming consideration into the 2017 FTIP. These projects have been reviewed with the BCAG Transportation Advisory Committee. Public involvement was incorporated as part of the development of the FTIP as well.
