2012 RTP

Overview       Schedule of Activities       Workshops       DRAFT RTP Document
OverviewTop of Page
BCAG is required to adopt a Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) every 4 years to identify the region's long range transportation plan for a 20 minimum horizon.  The 2012 RTP will cover the years from 2012 to 2035. Staff has scheduled four public workshops prior to the development of the project to inform and educate the public.

The RTP serves as the foundation for the development of the short-range Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) and the Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP).  The RTP can be amended at any time by the BCAG Board of Directors.

The 2012 RTP will contain the following:

  1. RTP Document - including all required components (Policy, Action and Financial)
  2. Air Quality Conformity Analysis and Determination - demonstrating that the projects in the RTP conform to the applicable federal air quality requirements.
  3. Sustainable Communities Strategy - forecasted development pattern for the region which complies with recent legislation (SB 375).
  4. Environmental Impact Report - complying with the California Environmental Quality Act requirements

If you would like to learn more about the RTP or have staff make a presentation to your organization, please email: Ivan Garcia.
