BCAG initiated a regional geographic information systems (GIS) program in 1997/98 with the goals of:

Providing BCAG and its member agencies with a comprehensive parcel-based GIS database
Providing cartographic output for transportation planning and other planning within the region
Assisting the general public and member jurisdictions with data needs

BCAG coordinates the development of the regional GIS program in cooperation with its member agencies and other public entities interested in GIS. Our data is shared with BCAG member agencies and Caltrans. The Regional GIS program supports the transportation planning programs by providing a sophisticated tool that can:

Analyze transportation and land use information
Evaluate potential project impacts
Map project and data layers for decision making
