In 2010, the U.S. census will define who we are as a nation. Taken every 10 years, the census affects political representation and directs the allocation of billions of dollars in government funding.

Participation Rates
As of April 23, 2010, the national 2010 Census mail participation rate hit 72% which equals the 2000 Census mark. Locally, Butte County is just 1% point away from meeting the 73% mail participation rate of the 2000 Census.

Non Response Follow Up (NARFU)
The Census Bureau will begin Non Response Follow Up (NARFU) on May 1, 2010 and will continue until July 30, 2010. Households who mailed back census forms after Monday, April 19, 2010 may also receive a visit from a census enumerator, as their form may not be received in time to remove them from the NARFU list.
Questionnaire Assistant Centers (closed April 19, 2010)
As of Monday, April 19, 2010, all Questionnaire Assistant Centers (QACs) in the the Butte County region have been closed. For those needing assistance completing the 2010 Census form, please use one of the Telephone Questionnaire Assistance numbers listed below.
Telephone Questionnaire Assistance
For assistance over the phone, please contact one of the following 2010 Census Telephone Questionnaire Assistance (TQA) numbers. TQAs are no longer mailing out replacement forms to residents; instead, individuals who call in may do a telephone census form interview.
